CORRESPONDENCE.

FLOUR QUOTATIONS. TO THE EDITOR OP THE TIMARCT HERALD. SlB, — I observe a lettor signed " Inwood and Co." m this morning's issuo of your paper, m which they rofer to my lnsfc week's quotation for stono dressed flour.. From their rather personal remarks, I infer that my quotations have not been reciprocated by the firm. They say I may perhaps hare been ablo to buy " stone dressed " flour at £7 ; if so they cannot compliment mo on my judgment, &c. Let mo assuro Messrs Inwood and Co. when I gave the quotation alluded to it was an honest record of that -week's values of produce as bought and sold by me, without a thought of hurting these gentlemen's feelinga. I never even thought of their existence. The price named, £7 to £8 per ton, I again reiterate was the value so far as I know, and I am still m a position to supply a parcel of this flour— a well-known and much appreciated bran — for tho consideration of £7 10s per ton, delivered m trucks or drays at the store, Timaru. Therefore, if the fact vouched for by you, Mr Editor, be correct, viz., that Inwood and Co., have received orders for flour to be delivered next month at £8 15s to £9 109, I cannot compliment their customer's

on good judgment, when best roller quality can be purchased hero at less money. ( I am, &c, Wir. Evans. Timaru, 22nd April, 1886.
