The Board which was appointed to examine into the circumstances surrounding the recent alleged importation of. Asiatic cholera into the colony by the R.M.S. Dornnda, have published their report which is' that the disease was undoubtedly cholera. GOOD NEWS. MEiBOtrRNE, April 15. Mr Hayter, Government Statist, ill his agricultural statistics of the colony of Victoria for the past season gives the wheat yield as averaging 8.99 bushels to the acre. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. m their grain circular just issued adopt this basis and estimate that after allowing for the wants of the colony 29,000 tonß will be available for export. ' THE VICTORIAN MINISTRY. April 17. :The Hon. Mr James, Minister of Mines, has resigned his portfolio, and it is not considered probable that the vacancy will be filled up. MILITARY AND CIVIL MATTERS. Rear- Admiral Tryon is at present m Melbourne, consulting with the authorities on the subject of the defences of the colony. He has been informed that a conference will assemble at Sydney on the 26th April, for the consideration of a general scheme of colonial defence. The Premiers of New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland will be present, and it is probable the question of the administration of New Guinea .will also be discussed. S.S. TEKAPO. The six days' walking match terminated at midnight yesterday. Scott was the winner, completing 424 miles to Edward's 406.
