For tlio past JO years your name and eminent services, m various capacities, have been prominently identified with the history of this country, and we therefore feel that bo remarkable siiid distinguished a career is ample justification for o'.ir taking this opportunity of recognising tile conspicuous ability and the disinterested services which you have placed ut nil times at the disposal of your fellow colonists.
