Mr Gillies, Premier of Victoria, the Governments of all the Australian colonies Lave telegraphed to their respective Agents-General requesting them to take joint action m urging the Imperial Government to prevent the annexation of the New Hebrides by France. H.M.S. DIAMOND. Hobart, March 22. The typhoid fever patients have been landed from H.M.S. Diamond and are now progressing favourably towards convalescence. The vessel has been released from quarantine. LReceived 10.30 p.m., March 22nd. i CRICKET. Adelaide, March 22. The cricket match Australian Eleven •versus Combined Fifteen was resumed to-day. The Combined Fifteen continued their second innings and all were disposed of for 330. The Australian Eleven then went m for their second innings, and after scoring 102 for the loss of six wickets, the game wns drawn m order to permit the Australian Eleven to embark m the Orient Company's • s.s. Austral, which leaves for London to-night. Jones, not out, 44, -was the highest scorer for the representative team m the second innings. The match stands — Combined fifteen, firßt innings, 245 ; second, 330 ; total, 575. Australian eleven — First innings, 422 ; second (six wickets), for 102; total (with four wickets to fall), 524. Proposals have been made to the shareholders of the Commercial Bank of South Australia, m which provision is made for the resuscitation of the Bank, or its amalgamation with some other establishment.
