ENGLISH AND rOBEIGN CABJ.H. (Peb Eu.otbio Teleoeaph — Copibiobt.) (Rbuter's Agency.) (Eeoeived 12.30 p.m., Maroh 20th.) SOCIALIST RIOTS AT LIEGE. Brussels, March 19. Serious rioting occurred at Liege yesterday on the occasion of a demonstration by Socialist agitators and unemployed laborers. A large number of windows were smashed and shops were sacked and pillaged of their contents. A large force of Gendarmerie endeavoured to quell the ontbreak and charged the mob several times, eventually cowing the rioters and making over a hundred arrests. The amount of damage done cannot yet be estimated but it is known to be immense. THE BULGARIAN DIFFICULTY. St. Petersburg, March 19. The Bnlgarian difficulty is not yet settled, as the Russian Government insists on Prince Alexander renouncing the claim put forward by him to a life tenure of the Governorship of Western Houmelia. THE .KAIKOURA. Madeira, March 19. The. Kaikoura from Wellington (11th Feb.) left to-day for Plymouth. THE RUAPEHU. The Buapehu left yesterday for New Zealand via the Cape.
