" Reverend and Dear Father — We, your loving and devoted children, tho pupils of St. Joseph's Schools, Temuka and Kerrytown, gladly avail ours.elves of this favourable moment to express to you our earnest and heartfelt gratitude for tho kind interest you havo always taken m our temporal, as well as m our spiritual -welfare, and wo pray that the dear Saint Joseph may obtain for you tho choicest and richest blessings of heaven, on this his great Feast Day. Dear Father, please accept this littlo souvenir, with tho best love of your devoted and faithful children, praying that you may never bo removed from amongst us until you go to receivo your eternal reward. Murphy then presented the stole, which was superbly ornamented with gold and precious stones, to tho reverend Father. The children, with their parents and other members of the church heard Mass and afterwards somo fifty of the children received the Holy Communion. The whole company then sat down to breakfast m tho schoolroom, and did justice to tho largo quantity of good things provided. Breakfast over the playground was taken posso'Bion of by the young people, and various healthy games indulged m for somo hours. After attending the service of the Benediction of tho Blessed Sacrament m tho church, one and all dispersed to Iheir homes thoroughly satisfied with the way they had kept St. Joseph's Day, 188 G. Tho display of work done by the school children during the year was most excellent, and Bhowed unmistakeably that tho teaching is everything that is to bo desirod. There wero on view pictures m crewels, wool and bead work ; plain and fancy needlework of all kinds ; cone work-baskets ; superb mantel drapes ; delicately worked wool ilowers, etc. The young ladies who exhibited specimens of their work were — Misses Demuth (2), M. A., 8., and SI. Connolly, A. Fitzgerald, M. and L. Quinn, Brosnahan, K. and M. Gaffnoy, McAuliffe, Carr, 11. and A. Murphy, Jackson, Wareing and Burke.
