Joseph Chamberlain, President of the Local Government Board, and the Eight Hon. G. 0. Trevelyan, Secretary for Scotland, have tendered their resignations. It, is . understood that Mr Trevelyan and Mr Chamberlain tendered their resignations m consequence of their objection to entrusting to an Irish Parliament the control of the Land Purchase Fund. AUSTRALIAN WINE DUTY. . A deputation of persons interested m the importation of Australian wines had an interview with Sir Wm. Yernon Harcourt to-day, when the subject of the dnty upon colonial, wines was entered upon. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, m reply to the deputation, said he was not at present prepared to take action m the matter,- but promised to give the subject consideration.
