March 9. Mr E. G. Stavoloy, for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile A?ency Company, Limited, reports on tho Ashburton sale to-day as follows : — Abont 2000 sheep and a fair entry of cattlo were yarded. Tho attondanco was better than nsnal. Sheep. — Dull. Fat crossbred owes, G3 ; mixed 2-tooth, 5s to 53 9d ; fat merino owe 3, 2a 3d ; inferior firat-eros3 lambs, 29 9d ; sound month merino ewes, 2s j aged crossbred ewes, 2s sd ; 4-tooth crossbred wethers, 4s ; cull merino owos, lid, do. wethers, Bd. Cattlo. — Thore was a fair demand for cattle. Fat bullocks, £5 53 to £7 103 ; fat cows and hoifer3, £i 5s to £5 123 Od, equal to 18s per 1001 b ; dairy cows, .£3 12s Gd to .£5 153 ; two-yoar-old steers, .£3 103 ; oalvos, 21s.
