THE ANGLICAN SYNOD.

(By Telegraph.) Auckland, Feb. 13. At the general Synod yesterday the Sessional Committee on tlie Reports of Trustees reported as follows on the application received from the Parish of All Saints, Dunedin: — ".Resolved, as the land that the General Synod are asked to transfer to the , trustees to hold as a site for the cathedral is by a trust deed held for a church site until it shall no longer be required for the purpose aforesaid, and as the Committee have beforo them not sufficient proof that the said land is no longer required for said purpose, they are not able to recommend the Synod to authorise the trustees to make the transfer that is desired." 1 Bishop Neville has given notice of motion for Monday for the addition of the following words : — " But they are of opinion that if the parishioners and the Diocesan Synod wish to ■ use the existing building for the purposes of i a cathedral tho tcrniß of the trust deed shall offer no obstacle m law to their doing so." i In tho Synod to-day the Primato requested tho Bishop of Nelsen to visit the Pacific Islands if the Bishop of Newcastle could , not. The recommendations of the Committee on Cathedral matters are to be printed for the consideration of next Synod. A rulo has been prescribed for bishops wishing to resign. The Committee appointed to consider the advisability of trying to influence public opinion on religious education by sermons, lectures, and pamphlets, recommend the diocese to again consider tho pensions (?) scheme. After three nights' close debate tho Synod agreed to the return of tho students of St. John's College to the old site atTamaldas soon as funds were provided.
