(By Telegraph.) (Por steamer at the Bluff.) (Special to thb Melboubne "Age.") Loxdox, Jan. 6. A conference between the Agonts-General for tho Australian colonies and Mr Baker, with referenco to tho conditions of the proposed Federal mail service between Great Britain and Australia took place to-day. The Agents-Genoral approved of the conditions, and it ha 3 been arranged that tenders for the transport of mails between England and the colonies shall forthwith be advertised for. It has been ascertained that tho major portion of tho members of the Liberal party are opposed to tho suggestion that an Irish Parliament should bo established. Jan. 7. Mr Baker is delaying calling for tenders for the proposed Federal Ocean Mail Service between England and tho Australian colonies, until he has received information wbethor tho Governments of Queensland, Tasmania, and Western Australia will cooperate m tho scheme. It is announced that tho Ministry intend to introduce three separate measures proTiding for local government m England, Scotland, and Ireland respectively. Tho Queen has notified to tho Commissioners of the Colonial and Indian Exhibition her willingness to become patron of tho Exhibition.
