The local Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited), reports on the Melbourne markets as follows : — Wheat, shipping, 3s lid to 4s, ateady ; barley, malting, 3s 3d to 3s 9d, quiet ; oata, New Zealand feed, 2s lid to 3s id ; ditto, milling, 3s ld. There is a better de.nand •for all descriptions of oats. New Zealand, under bond, are at 23 2d to 2s 4d. [Received 1 p.m., Jan. 13th. I Only one of the four men arrested in connection with the Collingwood Bank robbery has been detained. The other three being able to explain their movements to the satisfaction of the police, have been released from custody. The Viott»rian Seamen's Union has received a reply from the New South Wales Union promising co-operation in the case of a strike. The Brisbane Union requested further information before giving a definite answer. The roasters remain firm, and are determined if the strike extends to lay up their vessel altogether rather than submit to the domauds of the men. Correspondence is now passing between the Trades Council and shipowners relative to a proposal of the Grst-named body to establish a Board of Conciliation for the settlement of the dispute. [Received 10.30 p.m., Jan. 13th.] Tho Seamen's Union havo resolved to give ship owners twenty-four hours' notice of the intention of the members of the Union to strike work. (Received 1.30 a.m., Jan. 14th.) Meibotjrne, Jan. 13. The seamen's strike will probably affect fifty steamers. The Seamen's Union have received an answer from the New Zealand Seamen's Union declining to co-operate pending the receipt of further information from the Victorian Union. Adelaide. Jan. 13. The search party which haa been endeavoring to find traces of tho missing men on tho Clifton Hills reports having discovered two mere bodies, making a total of five. Four men have still to be accounted for.
