The ship Canterbury again took m a large quantity of wool and frozen mutton at the Breakwater wharf yesterday. Bhe iB receiving excellent despatch, and should the woather oontinne favorable ought to get away early next week. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company announce that the splendid iron clipper ship Pareora, 879 tons, *Aal, will be on the berth for London direct as the second wool ship about the 14th prox. Bhe will be followed by the barque Malaara, 853 tons. Particulars as to freight or passage can be had on application to the local agent of the Company. A steamer that recently arrived at Melbourne carried as deck cargo no less than 150 cases of bisulphide of carbon, and during the transfer of these oases to the wharf one either oanght fire or was found to bo on fire. It is well known that this chemical, whioh is now largely used m the extermination of rabbits, is of a most volatile and combustible nature, and the consequences can be imagined of a fire breaking out m this manner at aea m the middle of the night. In all probability before assistance could he given the vessel would be enveloped m flames and all on hoard destroyed. We understand that the Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association, Melbourne, are about to take steps to bring the matter before the authorities m England. (Bt Telegraph. )
