SIR JULIUS VOGEL'S PETITION.

Tlia Petitions Committee have reported on ! the petition of Sir Julius Yogel aa follows :— > "That having taken the evidence of tbo petitioner, Sir George Grey, X.C.8., the Hon. Major Atkinson, the Hon. Sir P. ! Whitaker, K.C.M.Gr., and Sir Win. Fitzherbert, ■ K.C.M.G., they are of opinion that owing to ' the great importance of the questions involved, dud of the points raised, as well as the mass of correspondence and documentary evidence necessary to be examined, it is imtime at their disposal to attempt to arrive at a definite report during the present session of Parliament." ! It is alleged that a. further reason for ' delaying the report is. the desirableness of. 1 obtaining Sir J. Hall's evidence.
