ARRIVAL OF THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.
(By Telegraph.) ArcKHXD, Sept. 20. J Tho s.s. Zealruulia left San Francisco on the 29th ult. On the 31st Augnst a largo piece of wreckage was observed, and tho steamer was stopped and a boat was sent to examine it. It was found to bo tho after-part of a ' vessel of about 400 tone. The passage was otherwise uneventful. The voyage was delayed by inferior coal. Passengers for Auckland—Saloon : Rev. A. Kirkham Donil, Mr nnd Mrs Mosdorne and two children, Mr Kettle and child, Mr Thompson, Mr nnd Mrs d Dimant and infant, Messrs Roberts, llamor, , r Coleman, Williams, Friers, Graylnml, FiU- ; gerald, Samuels, Care, Blight, Boe, Billar; for Sydney: 40 saloon and 64 !" steerage. Amongst "the saloon passengers is Miss Barnttt the actress. 'ihe cargo for 1 Auckland is 216 holes of apples and 685 1 cases of salmon. The Zealandia left for 1 Svdne*- at (5 o'clock this evening. The Penguin, with tho Southern San Francisco mail, sailed at 5 o'clock this afternoon, among the passengers being Constable MeDomett, m charge of W. D. Jackson, who was remanded ) for embezzlement.
