[Rbutek's Agency.] (Received 1.30 a.m., Sept. 12th.) London, Sept. 10. Consols, 108 J. New Zealand securities are unchanged. The market rate of discount is l ; j, or I below tho Bank rate. The weekly returns of the Bank of England published to-day show tho total reserve m notes and bullion to be £13,900,000, a decrease of £1,200,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 42 per cent, being 2 per cent below laat week's report. Tho wo"l market to-day was very llat. 11,400 bales were submitted at auction. Since the commencement of tho series 20,000 bales have been withdrawn from sale. London, Sept. 11. Lord Carringtou was entertained nt a farewell banquet last evening, at tho Beacons Geld Club. The Agents-General for the various colonies wero amongst the guests. Lord Carrinyton m a speech m reply to the toast of the evening, referred to the colonies, and eulogised their recent offers of aid to the British Government, and said that the Lion's cubs had proved themselves worthy offspring f>f the Mother Country. Lord Rosebery also spoke, and expiated upon the desirability and advantages of federation. Sir Saul Samuel, replying to the toasts of the AgentsGeneral, welcomed Lord Carrington as the new Governor of New South Wales.
