(By Telegraph.) •ArcKLAiTD, Sept. 7. In regard to the Franklyn Koad fire, S. Anderson's premises were insured for £300 m the Boyal. The City Xorth Licensing Committee have notified hotelieepers that unless they conform to the bar restrictions imposed at last licensing meeting, they will cancel the licenses of the offenders at the next quarterly meeting. Applications for extra bars were refused. An influential meeting was held to-day, to secure the representation of Auckland at the Colonial Exhibition m London. The accused was m the habit of giving the book, which is a disgusting publication, to boys to distribute m the streets. The police have seized 1000 copies of it.
