Sept. 2. Mr D. Stronach reports for the week ended Sept. 2nd as follows :— Fat Cattle— ll2 head were yarded to-day for the weeks requirements, nearly all of which were good to prime. This was a small number, bnt butohers being well 3npplied by previous purchases the market waa easier and prices were scarcoly as firm aa lost week. Best bullocks brought .£9 103 to v6ll 7s 6d, others £5 7s 6d to £9 2s 6d. We quote beef at 22s 6d to 25s per lOOlbs. Fot Sheep— 242l were penned, of which -450 were merinos, the balanco being crossbreds representing oil qualities. This nnmber following on the the large supply sent forward last week produced a mnch easier market, ond towards the close ofthe sole mnch lower prices hod to be accepted. Best crossbreds bronght from 14s to 16s 3d, and others 8s to 12s M, do shorn 10s 9d to lis, merinos Gs 6d to 10s. Wo quote mutton 24d to 2Jd per lb. Grain — In wheat there is no change from lost weet, and prices still continne firm. Millers are open to purchase at late quotations, hut m the meantime are not prepared to advance. We quote prime milling 3s 2d to 3s 4d, medium 2s to 3s, inferior and soft 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Oats — The demand for oats continues fairly brisk, porticnlarly for short bright milling. Ordinary feed aro also m good enquiry. We quote stout bright millin? 2s, short bright feed ls lOd to ls lld, medium ls 9d to ls lOd, inferior ls 6d to ls 7d. Barley shows no improvement m value, and lost weeks quotations are unaltered.
