Applications are being made on behalf of Victoria nnd New South Wales respectively for increased space at the Exhibition to be opened m London m May next. The King of Spain fears that if Germany persists m holding the islands he will be dethroned. It is rumored that the settlement of tho dispute between Germany and Spain with regard to the occupation of the Caroline Islands, will probably be effected by compromise. The Nord Deutsche Zeitung confirms the statement that an amicable understanding will be arrived at.
