NOTICE is hereby given that the Annual Examination of Pupil Teachers will commence in the Timaru Main School on TUESDAY, June 23rd, at 9.30 a.m. Pupil Teachers in the service of the Board are required to present themselves for the Examination corresponding to their recognised status in the Schools, unless they have already passed such Examination. In thu hitter case they may cither enter for the next higher Examination or consider themselves exempt. It must bo clearly understood that the mere passing of an Examination confers no title to n corresponding rank in the Schools. Promotions, except iu special cases, will be ma-ic at the expiry of a year's service iu the lower rank, if in the n canlimc the proper Examination has been passed and the required age attained. Candidates for employment of fourteen years of ago and upwards will be admitted \o Examination with Pupil Teachers of any year, provided that any pass tins Examinations in regular succession, beginning with the first, and than an upplication to be Examined be forwarded to the Secretary not later than June 16th. Such persons will not be entitled to immediate classification us Pupil Teachers of any rank, but in tho case of future appointments, the Board will lake into consideration their age and attainments in granting nn initial status Those who fail to satisfy the Examiner will be distinguished by numbers.
