The University Senate met again to-day, and considered the English examiners' report. Resolutions wore passed as follows : — That the following be admitted to the degree of B.A. .— W. H. Kay, J. G. L. Scott, J. T. Barnicoat, W. C. McDowell, P. Kime, J. FitzGerald, H. Wilson, J. J. Hay, T. W. Rowe, K. Alexander, D. Munro, G. M. Hutton, H. von Haast, R. Lamb, H. Inglis, A. Gifford, T. K. Sidey, H. Cross and C. Freeman.

That the following be admitted to the degree of M.A. :— E. H. Searle, 0. E. Harrison, W. P. Evans, R. MeNab, A. J. Mayne, R. M. Laing and J. A. Hartness. The following honors have been gained : — First class— E. H. Searle (Latin and English), C. E. Harrison (Latin and English), W. P. Evans (mathematics "and mathematical physics) ; socond class — R. McNab (mathematics and mathematical physics) ; R. W. Laing (natural science) ; third class — E. H. Searle (political science), and A. J. Mayne (Latin and English). That the following be admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Laws : — J. R. Thornton.

That senior scholarships be awarded to the following : — J. J. Hay (mathematics), and H. M. lnglis (experimental science). That the following be recorded as having passed in subjects for the B.A. first section for the teachers examination : — D. Charle* wood, J. H. Rice, T. A. Gill, S. Hopkins, A. W. Tindall, W. E. McAlister, S. C. Owen, E. Pitcaithley, E. Tilson, W. Haworth, E. P. Bunny, A. Harband, E. Kitchingman, K. M. Chisnall,M. Steele, M. Mills, G. Williams, B.Jack, M. Craddock, J. Aitkin, P. Levi, C. That the names of those persons in the above list who have passed the examination of teachers qualifying for a class be reported to the Hon. the Minister of Education, and that the names of those who have passed the preliminary medical examination be recorded. The University Senate concluded their meeting this evening. It was resolved that as the statutes relating to new degrees in science and the changes in natural history subjects had come into operation too recently to be conveniontly used this year, the examination in zoology should be conducted on the existing standard.

A report was received from the Horse Guards, stating that the military cadet appointed by the University, W. J. T. Glasgow, o£ Nelson, liad passed his final examination at the Royal Military College very satisfactorily. The Senate's report for presentation to the Governor was adopted. It stated that this year seven B.A.'s tad been advanced to the degree of M. A. One M.A. had been advanced to the degree of Bachelor of Law. 19 undergraduates had passed for B.A.'s, and two senior scholars and eight juniors had been made B.A.'s. The University roll now shows 36 M.A.'s, 75 B.A.'s, and 6 Bachelors of Law, in all comprising 114 graduates, and 449 undergraduates. The next annual meeting will be held in Christchurch, in March next.
