ADELAIDE MARKETS. Thc New Zealand Loan and Mercantile . Agency Company (Limited), report under date j March 12th, as follows: — f WHEAT. < The market here has been very quiet during tho present month, though values have been well maintained, holders showing little inclination to sell at present rates. We havo /placed a parcelof 3000 to 4000 bushels at 3s 4d per bushel on trucks at Port Adelaide, but sellers generally are now asking an advance of id to ld per bushel upon this figure, which, however, shows no margin of profit for shipment to the European markets. We quote .wheat to-day 3s 5d to 3s 6d per bushel for /shipping parcels f.o.b. Port Adelaide, and 3s '3}-d to 3s 4id for farmers' lots delivered at mill door. ! FLOBB. ', Trade continues very dull, and country flour is especially difficult toplace at anything /liko remunerative prices. The enquiry from 'tho eastern colonies continues dull, and our millers suffer severely from the strong competition of Victorian flour, which, owing to the . facilities of transit and other canses, is offored at extremely low prices. We quote town brands, ,£8 to .£8 5s ; country do, .£7 to £1 5s por ton. OATS. "~ Tho demand continues quiet, and trade is principally confined to purchasers of small fparcels to meet immediate requirements, •' buyers looking for lower values aa tbe new crop comes to hand. Our New Zealand office report that a large area of crop haa been secured m prime condition, and tho quality iill be excellent. Wo quote values here 23 Jd to 2s 9d per bushel for short bright feeding 'qualities ; some inferior samples have been sold at ld less. BABLET. Brewers still decline to purchase, and prices for malting sorts aro nominally Is 6d per bushel. Feeding qualities are quoted at 2s 6d -per bushel. BBAN. Quiet at 9d to Oid per bushel. POLLABD. The demand continues steady, and prices remain as last quoted, viz., lld to Hid per bushel. BUTTER. The contiuued cool weather has affeoted the demand for potted bntter, and the market ia hardly so strong. We havo sold parcels of Now Zealand m fair order at lOVd per lb. CHEESE. New Zealand is saleablo at Bid to 9d per lb if quality is good, otherwise buyers will not give more tban 7d to 7id per lb.
