CORRESPONDENCE.
DEFENCE. SO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMARU HERALD. Sir, — It is a fact that there are some hundreds of young men m our colony who have never had the opportunity of handling a gun, but would be only too glad to be able to do so m case of a war breaking out with any foreign Power. My reason for writing is to suggest that a training school should be formed for those desirous of becoming acquainted with the use ! of arms. If such were done I feel confident recruits would be numerous, and perhaps would become ÜBcful men m time of need. I am, etc., 7 Unakmeu.
