She ■will probably finish to-day. Tho Union Company's s.s. Taiaroa arrived from Dmiedin on Saturday morning with about 90 tons of general merchandise. After discharging and taking in a quantity of produce and barbed wire, she sailed for Nelson via way ports in the evening. The barquentine Annio Bow from Newcastle, ■with a cargo of coal3 for this port, put in an appearance in the roadstead about eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, but as the sea was too rough for her to anchor, she was ordered ont to sea again, The sea haying considerably abated yesterday she came into port again during the afternoon, and was anchored at the outer buoys. Tho Union Company's new steamer Taupo arrived from Dunedin-u in Oamaru yesterday, and dropped anchor in the outer roads. The Taupo is almost a counterpart to the Ohau ; tho only difference is that she has no refrigerator. Tho Taupo is in command of Captain JIcCoU, formerly master of the Beautiful Star and Suva; Mr Matheson, of tho Beautiful Star, has been appointed first mate ; while Mr IT. Jones, late captain of the Takapuna, takes office as second mate. She will sail for the North this evening. Tho s.s. Glaucns is expected from Newcastle on the 28th instant. She is a 3teamer of 877 tons register, and will bring a full cargo of coal. The barquontine Ocean Ranger has been chartered to maka several trips to bring timber for the Moody Wharf. Mr John Jackson expects shortly the schooner Marmion from Kaipara, with timber for the Temuka and Geraldine bridges, the Colonist from Waitara to load produce, and a vessel from the Bluff with timber. The s.s. Orowaiti is hourly expected from Westport with coals. The s.s. Wakatipu will be in port this morning to load for Sydney. Fully 300 tons have already been engaged.
