RULES AND REGULATIONS. The word " District " means and includes South Canterbury. No entry will be received for any of the Races except upon this condition — That all disputes, clainiß, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards, or those whom they may appoint ; their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this Programme to be final. All Entries and Acceptances must be m sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Murphy's Hotel, Pleasant Point, and contain entrance money, description, age and name of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey. South Canterbury Jockey Club Rules, where applicable, will be strictly adhered to. In Hurdle Races, Horses to qualify by jumping hurdle past Judge's box. In the event of a person entering a protest, the snm of £1 Is must he lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered; this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. No horse to run unless the owner shall bo a subscriber of £1 Is to the funds, except m the Hack Hurdle, Trotting, and Hack races.
