Pearpoint, Chairman of the Geraldine Town Board, -waited on thß Board with regard to a settlement with the Town Board. It was resolved — " That on the completion and exchange of deeds between the Geraldine Road Board and the Geraldine Town Board, the cheque bo handed to tho Town Board payable on the Bth. day of May, 1885, for balance due." Mr T. H. Wigtey interviewed the Board m reference to the gorse at the Kakahu, and also with reference to land taken for a road under the Public Works Act. It was decided that two members and the Overseer should inspect the road where the gorse is growing, and also that the land for road be taken under the Public Works Act. FINANCIAL Mr Flatman moved, Mr John Kelland seconded, and it was carried — " That the deposit for £500 falling due on March 15th, 1885, with the Bank of New Zealand be placed to the current account with the Bank of New South Wale 9, Geraldine." ovebsbeb's bepobt. The Overseer's report was read ag follows : " The continuous wet weather experienced during the past month has interfered considerably with the progress of the works m hand ; the contract time for two of those works expired on the 3rd instant. " Findlay's Ford. — Mr Findlay declines to have the ford near his house deepened as suggested, and also withdraws his permission to divert tho creek through his land near Patrick's. " Budle Creek. — I have communicated with Mr Shaw m reference to the line of road at the Lime Kilns, but he has not yet been out to make the necessary survey. " Gorse. — With the exception of advertising for tenders, no steps have been taken to clear the gorse from the road m the Kakahu Val • ley." " Mr Kelman's application. — As instructed, I have examined the river-bed at Hawke's crossing, Waihi, and find that m time of flood the water flows through- the cutting m the North Torrace, and through the gateway into Mr Kolman's paddock. The willows planted on the South bank below the bridge are encroaching very fast on the water-course, and consequently are forcing the stream on to M* Kelman's land. "Valuation Roll.— The Property Tax Commissioner has forwarded an amended copy of the roll, but there is still a large amount' of inaccuracies and omissions that require to be rectified." " Gravel Reserves, — I find on enquiry that no land was purchased by the Board m 1877 out of Reserve 1191. The money paid at that time was for compensation to the lessee during his term, consequently no survey has ever been made. " Iron Safe. — I have purchased one of Milner's fireproof safes for the safe custody of the Board's most valuable books and documents. " Law. — I have also received a copy of the ' Whole Law of New Zealand,' ordered some time since from Mr W. Badger. " The Mount Peel Road Board has forwarded a cheque for sections of stonecrusher."
