The reinforcements from England and India for the Soudan operations are now arriving here. .'..'.' (Special to the Press Association.) (Received 11 a.m., March sth.) London, March 4. The inhabitants of Kassala were reduced to great straits through famine before the town fell into the hands of the rebels. The native troops at Hyderabad, Bhopal, Patteala, and Jheend volunteer for service m the Soudan. An engagement with the rebels Tinder Osman Digna is expected to take place on the 20th inst. [Received 2.15 p.m., March sth.T The War Office are willing to supply officers and sergeants to the Australian Autumn contingents. A large sum has been offered at Home towards the Patriotic Fund. (Received 0.45 a.m., March. 6th.) London, March. 5. Lord Wolseley, who is suffering from an affection of the eyes, will probably return to Cairo.
