Sevoral samples of oats, wheat and barley havo been shown during the past week, but in noarly every instance exhibitors could not guarantee) to give immediato delivery, consequently actual sales have been of the most trivial description, and the prices obtained can scarcely be taken as an index of how the new grain will open. Buyers state that the quality generally is satisfactory, and that <n-owers show a disposition to sell at prices offered. Quotations are :— Wheat, milling, 2s 8d to 2s lOd ; oats, milling Is 7d to Is Bd, feed .. Is 4d to Is 6'd ; barley, malting, 3s ; sacks, 6d, delivered at Timaru.
