NEW ZEALAND UNIVEBSITY.
(By Telegraph.) Auckland, Feb. 26. The Senate of the University resumed its sittings to-day. Dr Hector was appointed Chancellor, and the Bey. Andrew Nelson Vice-Chancellor. The University scholarship examinations report recommended that the junior scholarships be awarded to the following m order of merit : — ■William F. "Ward, Bobert Speight and Ainilie Mills, Christchurch ; Percy G. Morgan, Dunedin ;. Fred Gibbs, Nelson ; Flora M. Albin, Dunodin ; Catherine Lamb, Christchurch ; John H. Smith, Dunedin. Out of thirteen candidates taking the whole or part of the Medical preliminary examination, five whose names are on the table are to be allowed to pass. Of the 67 candidates for junior scholarships all are consklcred qualified for matriculation examinations.
