Notice of Special Order making By-laws pursuant to the provisions of the " Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act 1882." IT is hereby publicly notified that a Special Order will be made at the next meeting of the Mackenzie County Council, on the 4th day of August, bringing the By-laws, the intentions of which are act forth hereunder, into force within theCoucty of Mackenzie : — No. 1. — Regulating Pace of Traffic acro33 Tekapo Bridge. No person shall ride or drive across the Tekap j Bridge at other than a walking pace, under a penalty, on conviction, of not exceeding £5. No. 2. — Slaughter License Fees and Regulations. For a butcher's license to slaughter m unlimited quantity, £5 per annum. For a farmer's licence to slaughter not more than six small cattle or one large cattle per weefc, £1 per annum. Slaughterhouses shall be kept clean and to the satisfaction of the Inspector appointed by the Council, who, m case of necessity, shall use such disinfectants as he may think fit at the licensee's cost. All offal shall be properly disposed of. No nuisance shall be created by slaughter premises. Penalty for every breach . ol By-law, not exceeding £2. No. 3— Regulating Width of Tires and Weights to be carried on the Roads within the County. Every- driver of a vehicle shall stop for inupection to be made of h;3 load and width or condition of wheel tires, "when called upon to do so by the Council's Inspector or a congtable. Penalty for obstructing officer or refusing to comply with his demand not less than £1 or more than £5. All vehicles shall be withdrawn from use on the roads within the County whenever any part of the edge or edges of the wheel tires of laid vehicle is worn down half an inch less m thickness than the centre of the said tire until hew tires have been substituted for tho worn ones. Every owner, driver, or hirer of said vehicle using it after written or verbal notice has be^n given that the tires thereof require renewing, shall, on conviction, bo liable to a ' pcniilty of not exceeding £5 per day on which such vehicle is ueed contrary to this By Law. No load exceeding 5 tons dead weight shall be hauled m any vehicle unless the wheel tires of said vehicle exceed 3 inches m width. No load exceeding 6 tons dead weight Bhall be hauled m any vehicle unluss the wheel tires of said vehicle are ut least 6 inches m •width. No load exceeding 30 bales of greasy wool shall be hauled m any vehicle unless the wheel tires of Baid vehicle exceed 3 inches m •width. No load exceeding 36 bales of greasy wool shall bo hauled m any vehicle unless the wheel tires of daid vehiclo are at least 6 inches m -width. In cases of mixed loads of greasy and scoured wool, 2 bales of scoured wool will be counted equal to 1 bale of greasy wool. Penalty for hauling more lond than is authorised horeby, not exceeding £5 per day or part of a day on which tho offenco is com 1 ' ■ mitted.
