Timaru Herald Office, Monday Evening. AUCTIONEERS' EEPOET. Meagre J. Hundell and Co. report sales for the week ended Saturday, sth inst., as follows .— The stock market as yet remains quiet. They find an increasing demand for store cattle which they believe will improve as the spring approaches. Sheep aro doll of sale at late quotations. Inquiries are being made for strong healthy lambs. At the Geraldine monthly sale on Wcdneaday l»3t, the entries were the smallest they have seen m these yards, bnt prices realised were satisfactory to all concerned, every lot being cleared at considerably over owners' reserves. The totals yarded were : — B4 sheep, 36 head of cattle, 24 pigs, 15 horses. The following prices were realised : — Lambs, 3s 4d and 9s ; cows (springing), L 6; 2-year old steers m low condition, L 2 15s ; old cows m forward condition, L 3 5s j store pigs, LI to L 2. On account of a client, they sold 10 horses at prices ranging from 5s to L 5. At Winchester Fair on Thnrsday, the entries were small, and no business of any importance was transacted. They sold a small lot of fat sheep at 14s 9d. At their sale rooms, Geraldine, on Saturday, there wa3 a good attendance of buyers, and prices for farm produce slightly improved, for potatoes especially a good demand exists.
