Consols remain at lOli, and New Zealand securities at yesterday's quotations. The market for colonial breadstufla and tallow is without quotable change. At the wool auotion on Monday 11,700 bales were offered. A better demand for all descriptions was experienced. The withdrawals since the opening of the aeries now amount to 24,000 bales. The sales have been adjourned to June 4th for the holidays. The Homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi, per Orient steamship Sorata, from Melbourne, April 18th, were delivered here yesterday. Both Houses of Parliament adjourned last evening for the Whitsuntide holidays. Cairo, May 27. It ha 3 transpired that the Khedive has addressed a letter to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, requesting that Baker Pasha (Colonel Valentine Baker) may be reinstated to the position m the British army which he previously held. Telegrams have been received from the Governor of Dongola stating that he has defeated the rebels m the neighborhood of Debbes and recaptured that town.
