It is now known that Mr Clifford Lloyd, Under-Secretary for Home Affairs m tho Egyptian Ministry, who has gone to England on leave of absence owing to illness, will not return to this country. It is stated that Nnbar Paßha, President of the Council, insists that all Europeans should be dismissed from the positions they now fill m the Ministry. London, May 26. In connection with the projected European Conference it is now asserted that England has accepted the principle of European control of Egyptian finances, and is now discussing with France the question of the duration of the British occupation of Egypt. [Beoeived 0.55 p.m., May 27th.] The P. and O. steamship Ballarat, from Melbourne (left 10th April) arrived at Plymouth to-day. Capetown, May 26. The salvage from the steamer Bulli, which ran ashore at Paternoster Point on the Bth instant, realised £100, and the wreck of the vessel has been sold for £7, all hopes of floating the hull having been abandoned. Tho A\istralian cricketers played a match tv-day at Birmingham against an eleven of the Midland Counties. The latter went m first and scored 82, the bowling of Spofforth doing great execution. There was a bumpy wicket. The Australians wont m, but only succeeded m putting together 76 runs, or 6 behind their opponents. The latter m their second innings were all disposed of for 26, leaving the Australians 33 to get to win. They obtained the requirod number with the loss of G wickets, thus winning the match by 4 wickets. The weather was fine, and tho re was a large attendance of spectators. [Received 1.5 a.m., May 28th.l Spofforth m the first innings took six wickets for 30 runs, and m the second innings he socured seven wiokots for three runs.
