Beyond the sale of a few bought m lots the position of onr wool market has remained unaltered dnring the List fortnight. Business m onr own manufacturing districts still continues brisk, but m Franco little or no improvement is noticeable. Throughout the past year the greatest caution has been displayed by French buyers, bnt it is natisfactory to note that other European countries hare operated rathiir more freely, some 570,000 bales out of tho total quantity (1,193,000) catalogued at the four series, having been taken for export. The first sales of the year are to commence on the 12th proi., but it is doubtful whethor tho arrival* up to the 19th February will a-nount to the maximum quantity ftiecl by the Mnrchanta' Committee, viz., 400,000 bales. The new arrivals to date are as follows : — Bales.
