The death ia announced of Mr Gibson, at one time a prominent tiember of the AntiCorn Law League, and who was m 1859 President of the Board of Trade. The deceased gentleman if as 77 years of age. Bir Henry Parkes, ex-Premier of New South Wales, lectured tit Glasgow last evening upon the position and prospects of New South Wales. A report whioh has been circulated to the effect that Sir Arthur Ulyth, Agent-General for South Australia, intended to contest Fal mouth at the next general election for tbe House of Commons, it declared to be unfounded. Kdward Hanlan, tbe Canadian champion sculler, railed from Sar. Frauoisco an route for Australia on the 37th February. It is reported tbut Ayoub Khan, the unsuccessful claimant for the Ameerabip of Cabu), is imprisoned m Pernia.
