WOOL SALES. The third series of wool sales m Timaru this season was held to-day. Messrs Slaolean and Stewart and Messrs Miles, Archer and Co. did n"t submit any catalogues at this gerios. The following reports huvo been hanlod to us by other firms : — Tao National Mortgage and Agonoy Company of New Zealand (Limited), report having to-day held their third of this season's wool safes, when only a small catalogue was offered. There was about the U9n il attendance of buyers, who were on the whole inolined to give fair prices. The following lots were offered and disposed of at the prices named : — Cluremont, 1 balo merino, 7d. CF, 3 bags looks. Id. Tin oircle, 11 bales croßSbred, passed. To Pukora, 1 balo crossbred, 5Jd ; 21 bales merino, 9d ; 1 bale belly pieces, 6d ; 1 bale mixed fleece and bally pieces, 6d; 1 bale looks and merino pieces, 4a. Cannin jrton, 2 bales merino, passed ; 1 bale crossbred and mtrino, passed ; 1 bale lambs and merino locks and pieces, 4d; 1 bala £-bred stained pieces, passed. Gray's Hills, 1 bale skins, 4Jd per lb ; AG, 14skins, 2s7deaoh. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Ajjonoy Company (Limitad) held their third salo of tho season to-<lay, and snbraittod 19t balss and 23 fadges and bags of wool, 7 bales j Btation skins, and a quantity dt loose sheepskins, m all 58 lots. The attendanco of buyers waM small, but competition for the various lots wu keen, and the result was that they sold their entire catalogue with the exception of socio eight lots of wool, which lire! now nnder offor privately, and will probably be sold tomorrow. The seven bales of skins had to be withdrawn, as the prioes offered were too low. . Taking it all round the aalo waa a successful ono, and prices ruled about the same as at the last sale, with a slight advance m tho case of merino station pieces.
