Patorsnn, tvrt) binders vere at work m a very nico uven crop df barley, whilst m a paddook adjoining a crop of oats are m stook. A ptpoo of flret-clasa irbent-growing land extends from Winchester to Tenmka between the Waihi river and the j railway line, at the upper end of which, on the bank of the river, are tbe faitna of Messrs W. Bjdd and Q. Oliif. Tbe former has a very good but small paddock oi wheat, and the latter ha* three paJdocks of oats and one of wheat. Mr Cliff's farm m notid for its fertility, and this year the cropd are some of t.he be:t m the district and full]' maintain its reputation. In the oats, Canadian, a binder ■was busy at work. On either side of tbe main road, hetweim tin's farm and Tamuka, :ire several first-clr.es paddouw of red chaff wheat, whioh should turn out; a good way ibove the average.
