ORARI.

On 'tbe rich strip of land rnnning down tbe south bink of the river the crops are splendid. On Jlr R. A. Barker's farm there is come 300 acres. One small paddock of Cinadian oats, nearly ripe, not far from the railway station, is one of the finest m the district. A white fringe round it, however, shows that the Bparrowu have done some d.image. Mr Bsrker has also ten acres m linseed, which is ccming on well. Further down are the farms oj: Messrs Stow.irt, Gladstone, and Comptsn. Each has mow or less land m crop, principally wheat, and on the Stumps ftirm is about 3(10 acres. The. 1 cropa on these farms are same of the beet to }>c seen. They are not so heavy m the straw as eoroe of those on the swamp land, but are quite as-well headed. On the north side of the Orari river a strip of g:ood agricnltural land extends from the Orari station to near the beach, where it terminates m a large swamp. The proprietor!! of the Orari station huve some 170 acres of wheat and oats, and three hundred acres m tnrnipt, which though lite are coming up well. Following the river down, about two miles from tho homestead a bio ok of upwards of six hundred aares of crop is met with. This is on land formerly part of the station property sold about thr«B years ago, and now onued chiefly by Mesers Eelman, Hawke, Qreenaway, and Thomas. The wheat, red chaff and some late sown tusc&n, is some of the finest to be seen, and will turn out well. On some of the wetter land, however, it is not no good, the grass has almost choked it. On the ffenlartfo Estate do orop has been put m. About cix hundred ncrea have been sown m puss and about 260 m rape and turnips. The inrlier sown turnip's are coming on well, and s>> far have entirely escaped tbe ravages of blijht or fly. The Hon. W. Rollestou has part of his fnrm under crop, half of which' is wheat snd tho remainder oats and barley. The wheat is n very good crop, and tbe manager estitnntes it will yield about thirty-five bushels to the acre. Tbe oats and barley are very fair crops, and a start has beei made to map the former. Between Sir "Bolleaton'a and the mouth of the Bangitata river Mr Angus Hscdonald has a fine block oi wheat and outs. The wheat, red chaff, is a splendid crop, and promises to yield up to forty bushels to the acre. Tbe oats are tartar ian, and ore also looking very promising.
