It was finally resolved, on the motion of Mr Turnbull, seconded by Mr Bhirtcliffe — " That the Committee be empowered to obtain a strong open tailing boat, with sails and gear complete, during next season, pronged tho Committee see their way clear to do so." 'Xbo movor urged strongly that the sailing boat Bhould be procured m preference to the racing boat, as there were many members who cared little for rowing who enjoyed a sail, and others of the same tastes might become members if the opportunity of procuring that enjoyment were given them. The Committee's " seeing their way clear " meant their making arrangements to postpone payment of some part of the current liability. Tho Committee were authorised to diapoße of the old boat " Wsimea," which had been built for uee on the Washdyke Lagoon, and is uaßuitiiblo for tbo rough water of the roadstead.
