[Received 10 p.m., Oct. 30th.] Oct. 30. The proposal of Tawhiao, the Maori King, to pay a visit to England, has been brought under the notice of the Secretary for State for the Colonies. Lord Derby has, it is announced, addressed a despatch to Sir Wm. Jerrois, requesting information regarding the Maori King, and asking his opinion on the subject of Tawhiao's proposed visit. Alexandria, Oct. 29. Intelligence has been received that cholera has appeared at Mecca, and that already several deaths have occurred. News to hand from Souaken, a seaport of the Red Sea, is to the effect that a body of rebel hillaien had surprised the town and massacred 150 Egyptian soldiers stationed near there. Madrid, Oct. 29. A report was current here to-day that Kin>; Louis, of Portugal, intends to abdicate at an early date.
