fßs Telegraph. 1 WANGANUI SPRING MEETING. Wakganui, Oct. 19. Tho Wanganui Jockey Club's Spring Meeting was held to day m a heavy rain from morning lill night. The courea was very heavy, and the lime was clow m consequence. The attendance was fair, including a good sprinkling of ladies, but the total number wae at least 600 less than at tho last Spring Meeting. There was scarcely any belting, and only one totalieator, through which £970 passed. The dividends were fair on nearly every event. The racing was good throughout. The victories m Ihe Hurdles and Handicap were both very popular, and Mr J. O. Evett, the handicapper, whose handicaps were found great fault with m this district, was cheered by tho crowd after the race for the big money. Maiden Plate, of 50 sots ; weight forage; 11 miles. D.
