MARINE BOARD ENQUIRY.
Auckland, Oct. 18. The Collector of Customs has held an en quiry at the Custom House into the causi of tho wreck of tho schooner William am' Jane. Captain William Burnett and Jones Harles, Selkirk and Andrew Grey (A.B.'s) were examined. From tho evideuco given thi vessel was of 09 tons, four years old, and wel found. She left Dnnedin on September 9tl for Waikato river, with a cargo of 102 tons o oats and oatmeal. Tho vessel was valued a LllOO, and was insured for L 750 m thi United Insurance Office, and her freight wa: insured for LIOOO, bnt m what office was no known. The cargo was little damaged, am was valued at LOSO. The owners of tin vessel were the captain and AVilliam Barker of Stewart Island. Everything possiblo wa dono to save the vessel from going ashore.
