AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.

Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the week ended Saturday as follows : — Horses — Tho demand for draught or light horsea at their yards to-day was, they think, without exception, the dullest that has been experienced for a sood many months back, and although they offered for sale without reserve a large number of good mares and goldings, they have to report bat few changed hands, and what wore sold had to bo almost given away. They entered for sale between 50 and 60 horses, and sold at the following prices : — Good draughts, at from 1/26 to L3O ; medinm sorts, from LlB to L 2 2; hacks and light harness horses, from L8 to Lls. To-day they held their annual sale, of Clydesdale anil thoronghbrcd entires, their entries consisting of 5 draught entires, 8 thoroughbreds and 1 ponies. They report m every case the bidding did not reach the owners' values, and m conacqnenco every lot was passed m. Howevor, they anticipate a few will bo sold privately. Sheep — There is no alteration m the market for store sheep since they last reported, almost no business doing m this class of stock. A good line of crossbred hoggets were entered for sale last Monday at the Washdyko Yards, but failed to find a purchaser. Fat sheep — Prices are firm. Prime mutton may bo quoted at about 3d per lb. Thoy sold at tho Washdyke on tho 24th a line consisting of abont 300 crossbred ewes and wethers, at from los to 18s 6d, the latter price being for an exceptionally heavy draft. Cattle — A few store cattlo were entered for sale at the Washdyke last Monday, and also at Pleasant Point on Friday, but transactions were limited and prices similar to last quotations. Fat cattle — Values are tho same as last weefe, about 253 per 1001 b. Messrs "William Collins and Co. report a good attendance of buyers at their regular weekly market and auction to-day. Tho entries wore large and varied, and with few exceptions all lots were cleared at tho following quotations : — Derwont potatoes, 40s to 45s por ton ; do, per sack, 4s ; Brown river, for seed, 80s per ton; lapstones, 5s totis per sack, slack demand ; fowl wheat, 7s to 8s per sack ; flour, farmers', 12a per sack; millers' do, os 6d per 501 b ; Akaroa cheese, 6d to Gld per lb ; oggs, 8d perdozon ; butter, Is per lb^ poultry, no entries worth recording ; bacon pigs, 4d to 4£d por lb ; new season's box teas, 13s. Household furpitnre, men's clothing and sundries wore quitted during the day at satisfactory figures;
