Miscellaneous. THE DIP FOR NEW ZEALAND. HATCH'S IS THE GENUINE Registered Trade Mark. <$j^ J. I H. 1. I c? SOLE MANUFACTURERS! J. HATCH & CO., INVEECABGILL. WE take this opportunity to state that t he Dip sold under the agency of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) is not the "Wilson's Colonial Sheep Dip " as supplied to those gentlomen whose certificates are printed below, and which certificates are being appropriated without leave by those persons advertising them under the Agency as above. Testimonials and letters received to substantiate this are given below-. Edeudale Estate, 14th January, 1882. Messrs J. Hixcn and Co., Invercargill. Dear i-'irs,— ln reply t o your enquiry as to the success of the Sheep Dip you supplied me with last season, I have much pleasure m stating that it gave me givat satisfaction, and fully sustained the previous high opinion I had formed of your dipping compound. Without doubt, as far as my experience goes, there is no Sheep Dip to compare with it m its lusting effects (and this I believe is the most essential property m an insect-destroying compound, as any one of the numerous 'dipping preparations m the market will destroy vermin for the time being, and I never saw ilocks so clean and free fiom lice and ticks as were those here at the past shearing season, notwithstanding that the dipping took place so long ago as March. With regard to the use by Mr Logan Wilson of the previous testimonial I gave you, I have only to say he certainly has not my permission to use it. The Dip he is advertising may or may not be equal to or superior to yours for aught I know, but until I have had experience of the compound manufactured by him I must protest against the insertion of my testimonials to yours m his circular. I am, dear Sirs, yours truly, "Wm.'llat, Manager (late of Totara Station). Morton Mains, Ist October, 1881. Mr Hatch, Chemist, Invercargill. Dear Sir, — I wish to express my surprise to see my testimonial to yon regarding the quality of your Sheep Dipping Composition, which bore date 31st December, 1880, copied and published under the Agency of Sew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, by Mr Logan Wilson, of whose Dip I know nothing, never having purchased any except that manufactured by yourself only, and which I reported on. Yours truly, Robeex McCAixtrsr. ROBT. WILKIN & CO., Timaru, Agents. J. HATCH AND CO., Are the sole agents m the Middle Island for Down's Farmer's Friend, For smut m wheai. To be obtained from R. By its use the farmer can secure the health of' his stock nt the mte of Jd per head per annum. _ In all large Sheep Districts m Australia, South America, and Africa no other preparation is used. The Vermin Destroyer is also invaluable for the purposes of the Horticulturist ; and it is most extensively used by the Flower and Kitchen Gardeners m Europe, America, and the British Possessions m all parts of the Globe. One Packet dissolved m two buckets of water will serve for over half-an-acre of ground, and will effectually prevent blight and exclude all other garden pests. As a VERMIN KILLER it is an unrivalled specific. Its use will speedily exterminate all household pests, such as bugs, cockroaches, fleas on animals, moths m furs, and insects on birds of all kinds, from the canary to the poultry. For this purpose simple nnd plain directions are given on every packet. The Powder can also be used m a dry state for the destruction of rats and mice.
