THE SALVATION ARMY.
TO TUB BDITOB OP TJIH TIMASU ITEBAIJ). Sib, — On Saturday oveniug wliilo driving my wagon through tlie Main Road ray liorso look fright at tho so-callrd Salvation Army, and it was as much a» I could do to savn running into a cart it and ing opposite a Bliop, when, instead of stopping the big drum, the man seemed to beat it harder. Wlint was my BUrpri»e on going into the Army Barracks m the evening to be saluted by a so-called Silvation officer m ohargo of the door, who I believe was beating the drum during the march, with words to the effect Hint I should be well ashamed of myself for trying to run ovur thi> Army whilo unrolling. Mr Editor, if this is a samplo of the language practised by them I think they had better chnngo their name from Salvation to natlm Army, which will b 1 more appropriate. I can only my that m fuluro when • triving if the Army are occupying tho road instead of the foot path and are m my way, I shall driro over them i!' they do not more out of my road. I am, io., J. Letisn.
