London, Aug. 9. Consols have declined by | to 100|. The market rate has fallen to 3J, and is now £ below the bank rate of discount.
Off-coast cargoes of Now Zealand wheat are quoted at 433 3d. There are no other changes to report m colonial breadstuffs or m tallow.
Madrid, Aug. 9.
Intelligence having been received by the Government that revolutionary designs had been manifested m the ranis of the military stationed near Logrono and Barcelona, large forces of loyal troops have deon despatched to those places m view of a possible rising. The recent indications of revolutionary tendencies m the army have caused much alarm, and the Cabinet has iv consequence issued a proclamation announcing the suspension of the Constitution now existing m Spain.
News is to hand from Barcelona that a number o£ insurgenta who had congregated near that town have dispersed, owing to the intelligence that a force of troops is on it* way to the scene. Capetown, Aug. 9.
It is now reported that Cetewayo escaped to reserved territory m Zululand, and is still at large.
