A Legitimist plot has been discovered in this city, and a number of revolutionary documents have been seized by the police, at the meeting-place of the conspirators. Cairo, Aug. 3. The cases of cholera now appearing are of a milder character than at first, and hope is entertained of an abatement of the epidemic. The health of the British troops ia much better. Hong Kong, Aug. 3. Intelligence is to hand that Juduc, Regent of Anam, is dead, and that he has been succeeded by Phudac. London, Aug. 3. Owing to quarantine difficulties, tha British Government has suspended the conveyance of mails by Egyptian railways, and has sanctioned thoir transport by the Suez Canal. Passengers from Venice and Brindui, going eastward, will join the London trunk service at Port Said; passengers from the Continent can leave Venice and Brindisi fortnightly by direct steamers to Bombay, vid the

Canal, but not touching at any Egyptian port. Strict quarantine is being maintained for homeward steamers at all Italian and French ports, and the F . and 0. Company have therefore decided to accelerate the speed of homeward bound packets to Plymouth, passengers thereon avoiding all quarantine. New Zealand securities remain at last quotations, -viz. : — 5 per cent 10-40 loan, 106 ; 5 per cent 1889 loan, 10SJ ; 4iper cent 1879-1904 loan, 102exdiv. ; 4'per cent inscribed stock, 102. Adelaide wheat ex store has advanced by 6d, and is to-day quoted at 47s 6d per 4061b5. Adelaide flour remains at 33s ex store. Now Zealand -whpat ex store is quoted at 44s to 48s per 4961b5, showing an advance of one shilling in finest qualities. The quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom has increased by 90,000 quarters during the week, and today is returned as a total of 1,520,000 quarters. Australian tallow has suffered a further decline of sixpence per cwt., best beef being quoted at 393 6d, and bent muttou at 403 6d. Beat sides of Australian leather are quoted at Hd, an advance of one half-penny par lb. Vienna, Aug. 3. The trial of Hungarian Jews who were arrested on a charge of having killed a Christian girl in order to use her blood for the Passover sacrifice, was concluded to-day, all the prisonsrs being fully acquitted by the Court.
