"T^TOTICE is hereby given that it is m. _131 tended to introduce m tho House of Representatives during the present session, a Bill, intituled an Act to amend "The Timaru Mechanics' Institute Act 1877," and that the following are tho objects such Bill is intended to effect : — ■ To authoriso tho Trustees of the Timaru Mechanics' Institute at the request of the Managing Committee and with tho consent of a majority of Members of the said Institute testified as m the said Bill mentioned to borrow ou the security of the Mechanics' Institute Building and site and tho land immediately adjoining the same, now vested m tho said Trustees, any sum of money not exceeding £3000 m addition to tho sum of £ already borrowed upon the security of tho same, the money so to bo borrowed to be paid over to such Managing Commilteo, and by them applied m tho first place m erecting upon the said land immediately adjoining such Institute building, a Hall for the holding of Public Lectures and othor Entertainments or Meetings, and the surplus of such moneys (if any) after such application to be paid and applied m, the manner prescribed by Section 6 of the said Timaru Mechanics' Institute Act 1877. And notice is hereby further given that a Copy of the said Bill has been deposited m tho Resident Magistrate's Court for the District of Timaru, at Timaru, where it is now Open to Public Inspection.
