ENGLISH MARKETS.

Me33r3 Miles Bros, and Co., report under date London, June 21st, as follows : — WOOL. The sales have progressed very steadily since tho opening, with a good attendance of buyers, and in consequence of tho keen competition on the part of the foreign trado during tho past fortnight, all good greasy merino wool has improved in value, and prices are now equal to thoso ruling in February. Really good soonrcd parcels aro also firmer, but faulty and short heavy greasy and coarso cross-bred3 are still dull of sale. Of tho total available supply for the series (334,233 bales), 114,882 bales have been catalogued. Some 10,500 bales have been withdrawn, and more than half the quantity sold had been taken for export. WHEAT, IXOUK, ic. In conseqnence of the summer weather which we have experienced during tho last fortnight and tho improved appearanco of tho country, dealers havo rofrained from speculating, while millers are merely purchasing for immediate requirements. The country markets continue to bo well supplied with homegrown wheats, and New Zealand parcels are not, therefore, in great demand. In Australian wheat supplies hero have been increased by the arrival of about 7750 sacks from Melbourne and Adelaide. Prices are quoted at 43s to 50a per 4961bs ex granary, but the business passing is very small. There is very little really good New Zealand wheat on sale at present, most of the parcels being ont of condition, and the parcels of the new crop per British King not having yet been placed on the market. Quotations ex store aro 17s to •18s per 4961bs for long-berried and -13a to 403 for average quality per 49filbs ex store. Flour ia in poor demand and prices are rather easier. Wo quote Australian superfine, 32s 6d to 33s 6d per 2801ba ; fine, 27a to 295 ; and New Zealand, 28s to 31s. Oats meet with slow sale at 303 to 31a per 38-Übs for fine heavy New Zealand, and 22s to 23s per 3361bs for ordinary feed. TAI.LOW AND HIDES. The tallow market has been flat since the 17th nit., with a limited demand for Australian, and price3 have declined Is 6d for mutton and la per cwt for beef tallow, tho value to-day of good to fino quality mutton being 12s and 43s 3d, and fair to fine beef 41s and 425. At the public sales to-day there was a slightly improved demand, and 1060 were sold out of 1489 caska offered, good qualities realising as above. Low sorts were in request and brought extreme prices. Tho stock this day in first hands ia about 5100 caska. 25,469 Australian hides were offered at the sales yesterda3% They were in moderato request, and 13,915 were sold at about former pricea, except cows, which were dull of sale at a decline of Jd per lb.
