Patba, July 16. A meeting of those interested m forming a oompany to purchase the Patea sawmill was held on Saturday evening, when it was announced that all the capital required had been subscribed. The name of the Oompany was declared to be the Patea Steam Sawmill and Wood ware Manufacturing Oompany. Much interest is awakening here ia the frozen meat question. At a large meeting of the Wairarapa Jookey Club on Saturday the date of, the Spring meeting was altered from the 9th to 2nd November, m order to follow the Pastoral Show day. Court, George Moßride sued Joseph Osmond, Mayor of South Dunedin, for £20 damages for assault, and battery. This case arose out of the celebrated rowdy proceedings at the Borough Council meetings, and the alleged assault consisted m plaintiff being removed by the police through the defendant's order.
