ATTCTKXNEERS' REPORTS. sle3sr3 Maclean and Stewart report for the week onded Saturday as follows : — Horses — Thoir entry to-day comprised G8 head of all claaae3, and fully one-half of theso found purchasers at prices showing a considerable improvement on late sales, the advance m prices being principally for good draughts. Theso they quoto at i!2G to .£35 ; medium and inferior, .£2O to £\2. Hackneys and light harness horses are slow to move off at anything approaching satisfactory prices, and may be quoted at for best eort3, .£ls to .£2l ; medium and weedy, .£lO to £5. Cattle — Fat cattlo are improving slightly m value, but there is not much bnsiness being done. Beef may be quoted at 22s Gd per 100 lb.s, woll grown store steers are beiug enquired for, and any lot 3 coming forward now would command fair prices. Their own transactions during the week were at Mr Wightman's sale, calves sold at 20s ; yearlings, 455 ; heifers, .£3 5s to £3 10s ; cows up to .£7 10s. Sheep — Thoy have no transactions to report. Fat sheep are m good demand at last qnotations, and there are a fow transactions m stores pending. Skins — At the regular sale on Wednesday, their catalogue was under the average, several lots not having arrived on account of the wet weather. Tho local buyers wore all present, and prices realised were quite np to sollers expectations. Best cross-breds fetched 4s Id, 4s 3d, 4s 4d, and 43 6d ; second quality, 2s Gd to 3s Id ; inferior. The attendance at to-day's sale was not quite so large as usual, but a large amount of bnsiness was done both m produce and miscellaneous goods. They quoto prime cheese at 7d per lb. Onions and seed potatoes are all cleared out. Good cooking potatoes are now coming forward very freoly, and have m conseqnenco, suffered a decline, 5s per saok now being the top price. Carrots, for horsefeed, 3s per sack. Fowl corn is m good supply at from Gs to 9s per sack. oat 3 m large quantities are easier, and farmers evinco a desire to quit at a slight reduction on their former demands. They are retailing at from la 7d to Is 9d. Bran and sharps are somewhat scarce, und sell at 5s Gd and 9s respectively. To-day, farmers' pork sold at 4d per lb by tho carcase ; mutton, at an average of 3s per side ; fowls, at from 2a 6d to 3s Gd per pair. Messr3 William Collins and Co. report a good demand for all classes of produce and general merchandise at their regular weekly market and auction to-day. They quote dry, sound Derwentpotatoos,4oj to 45s per ton, m large quantities ; small lots 50s. Onions, good prime sorts, 163 per cwt, with ready sale; fowl wheat, 5s to 8s per sack ; oats, feed, la (id to 3s 9d, bags extra; 25 farmers' bacon pigs were entered for sale, and being a prime lot, were soon bought np at 3£d to 4d per lb all round. Butter, good, Is 3d per lb ; inferior, unsaleable. Bacon, 7d per lb ; ham, 9d per lb ; eggs, Is 3d per doz ; fowls, 2s to 3s Gd per pair ; geese, 5s to 7s per pair ; turkeys, 6s to los per pair ; ducks, 3s to 5s per pair; rabbits, Is per pair. Box teas wore m extraordinary demand at 123. 100 wero quitted at that figure. They also sold during tho day and evening 500 pair men's, women's, and children's boots and shoes, for which satisfactory figures were obtained. Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report -.— At tho Addington Yards on Wednesday the supply of fat aheep was under the usual average ; for the few choice drafts offered the biddings wero fairly animated compared with l-ecent sales. Prime cross-breds sold from 15s to 18s 6d ; second quality, at from 13s to 14s Cd : prime merinos at 13s 3d ; second and medium do, at from 8s Gd to. 9s 6d, at an averago of about 2id per lb. Fat Cattle— 2l7 head brought forward, about one-third of which were good quality, and the remainder ordinary. Prices showed no improvement on last week's quotations, the biddings being dull, except for a few prime pens of steers, which sold at an average of 22s Gd per lOOlbg ; inferior ditto from 18a to 20s. On Thursday we held the usual weekly sale of sheepskins, m onr New Zealand Wool Stores. There was an average attendance of buyers. The competition was spirited, but Hcarcely keen enough to place quotations on a par with last week's rates We catalogued 3183 skins.
